Every living organism, we are told, has been created by God .

Are they all of equal value ?

Do they all qualify to go to heaven ?

Is having a soul - something to do with having a conscience and a free will. Do animals have a conscience ? I dont think so !
Humbersloop, I don't think so. The witch doctor was advertising, amongst other things, a 'love potion'. I can't believe that Peon Aisley knows what the word, 'love', means.

khandro #The budding of a rose and the building of a spider's web are no less teleological than any human activity.#

You are right khandro but I think no one commented on your post because that it is philosophy and has to be compared with cosmological and ontological arguments. All of which are based on a hypotheses and unproven.

My post is taking the words of theists and seeing the implications if we were to accept them at face value.

I'm not sure just what degree of absolute certainty you are expecting to "prove". All philosophers, theologians and academics in every field, differ to a greater or lesser degree in their beliefs. At the end of the day we all have to resort to direct intuitive perception (Aschauung), tempered by understanding. Nothing can be "proven" beyond our direct experience.
//I'm not sure just what degree of absolute certainty you are expecting to "prove". //

Exactly! Religion is nothing but conjecture.
^ "Religion is nothing but conjecture." For you perhaps, but if an individual's
direct experience proves positive, it is no longer a conjecture.
Of course we do ?

However think God forgot about me.

Khandro, //if an individual's direct experience proves positive, it is no longer a conjecture.//

Since there is no evidence that ANY perceived religious experience emanates from an unknown, unproven, God, the subject’s conclusion can only possibly be as a result of conjecture.

Nessie, you must be the one that got away! :o)
naomi; In your attempt to be logical, what you say is quite irrational. If something I perceive alters my state of mind, say making me laugh or cry, I do not require any 'evidence' as to its validity.
Not irrational at all. You may not require evidence, but if you expect other people to take your claims seriously, they do.
naomi; How tiresome you are, is your main objective always to attempt having the last word, regardless of how silly and repetitive you sound?
// I have no evidence. I don't know but believe it to be so
The illogical logic of the faithful. Bless them in their ignorance//

My illogical logic is this< My theory is that at the time of the so called big bang all matter was created including unseen intelligent life forms, which as soon as physical life forms developed invaded the brain or body of the said physical life forms to become what we now call '' The Soul''. This grows with intelligence & moves onto ( or into) higher life forms as it progresses. Upon the death or demise of the life form it inhabits, it transfers to another life form awaiting birth. This could explain instances of remembering so called other past lives & answers the theory in some religions of Re-incarnation.

You are right but in order to convey that experience it is necessary to demonstrate it in a practical manner. Your innermost feelings could have many biological causes , from indigestion to epilepsy. If you believe they have a supernatural cause that's OK if it satisfies your need but I need to put it to a test.
Having mooched around for a while and reading the comments on this thread - I am beginning to wonder if I have joined the "looney tunes" show!
I wouldn't go as far as that, Stranger. Though some of the Goodly Godless do seem to be very opinionated.
Khandro, // naomi; How tiresome you are, is your main objective always to attempt having the last word, regardless of how silly and repetitive you sound?//

No, that is not my main objective. My main objective is to have a sensible discussion here, but that appears to be impossible. If you had a rational argument, you wouldn’t resort to rudeness – yet again - and you might have more chance of getting the last word.

Doubtless these people’s personal experiences proved positive for them. Others might call those experiences delusions.

Everyone is opinionated to be an ABer . Do you mean self opinionated ?

Don't you think that is a good thing in AB .? Strong views even extreme views can be the catalyst that is needed to make you think rather that trotting out meaningless generalities .
Why did the Irishman who wanted to go to Heaven go to his local fishmonger?

Because he heard that you could get 'soles' there!

What a pity that after 13.7 billion years there were evidently not enough of them to go around. :o/
