1ozzy 06.39 sun, //The devout Christians are so ready to ignore similar writings amongst their own scriptures.//

The writings are not similar.

AH, //They say they are 'interpreting' because it's more easy to live with than admitting that they are clinically insane//

That's an awful lot of clinically insane people - and all following the same faith. Even the most naïve ought to be asking 'why?'
Naomi - If you compare the number of Muslims there are with the number of extremists, the latter is a tiny fraction of the former.

If it was the majority, they would be the norm, not the extreme.
AH, hmm .. since you don't know what people are thinking, that's debateable and there are figures suggesting that support among Muslims for the less savoury elements of the religion is more prolific than you might imagine. - but that aside, your response doesn't address the question of why one religion produces so many 'clinically insane' people. Why do you think that is?
‘ there are figures suggesting that support among Muslims for the less savoury elements of the religion is more prolific than you might imagine’

Link/s please.
Naomi, it's ironic in the extreme that you say I don't know what people are thinking, since virtually all of the very many posts you have offered about Islam, work fro the basis that you absolutely have inside knowledge of the workings of the collective Muslim mind, which you love to remind us you have 'studied'.

Since you have no more actual 'knowledge' than I, your posts are similarly based on your opinion, as are mine.

Both of us offer our view, but only one of us attempts to adopt a false image of intellectual superiority, even when it is consistently demolished.
AH, My posts on this topic aren't, in general, based on my opinion. See the link I just posted. Do you have an answer to my question?
may be worth noting that the information naomi is linked to is provided by a far-right website with very low credibility

Oh I love it when they get on their hind legs and paw the air like that.
AH, My posts on this topic aren't, in general, based on my opinion.

oh god, more AB flannel - every text has a psychological background - perlease! Context free facts from Naomi - dream on.

you see, reader she only reads my posts with a view to whether she can delete them....ergo
Untitled, can't think why you didn't like that. :o)
Oh I love it when they get on their hind legs and paw the air like that.

no - it is the meaningless howling that goes with it
Naomi - You 'back up' your opinion with a link to someone else's 'opinion' that helpfully sides with yours.

I don't claim to know the answers, it saves me from taking a superior attitude, and then having my 'backup' trashed by another contributor.
AH, never any answers - just another personal attack. I was asked for a link. I provided one. Its contents are not my opinion.
Naomi - I didn't say your link was 'your opinion', I said you used someone else's opinion to back up your opinion.

Nicely sidestepped, now you can slide away and pop up another day, as usual.
i am usually suspicious of far right sources naomi yes… there are lots of people who are out to make us believe that all muslims are a threat to everyone else… that they can’t be compromised with and that they are an existential threat to the west. such people treat any moderate proposal for responding to terrorism/extremism with derision and insist that “islam” - all of it - is a problem… and then invite people to arrive at a “final solution”to that problem without actually saying so and even denying that they are doing it.

so yes i am very cautious indeed about far right sources because i believe their ultimate objective is to build public support for genocide… which is where far right ideas always end up if you let them
AH, Yet again there's a familiar pattern emerging here. You argue this subject, tell anyone who disagrees with you that they're wrong, invariably tie yourself in knots, and finally resort to personal attacks. Doubtless you'll be re-introducing your favourite author next. There's some side-stepping going on but it isn't coming from me. That link contains the opinions of Muslims polled by some reputable sources. Perhaps you should take the time to read it.
Andy, I see no evidence whatsoever that the muslims who carried out all the atrocities I mentioned against innocent British civilians were 'clinically insane', and its a mystery to me why you would make excuses for them like this. It's very convenient to blame 'mental illness' when the evidence shows that these were people simply following their chosen faith, Islam, to the letter. Do you know what jihad is? These people are using violent tactics to achieve Islamic goals.
Untitled, get a grip on your imagination. It's running away with you.
terrorism often mixes up with politics as much as it does with religion... the truth is that it is quite possible to be a muslim without endorsing violence and it is quite possible to be a muslim who commits atrocities... what causes a person to be one rather than the other? religion is obviously part of it but it clearly is not the whole story
