Only a fool living within Europe would have voted for Brexit, believing things would remain the same - allowing them to reside under the same terms, post Brexit.

But who might they have got such a deranged belief from?

Some people believe that anyone who doesn't fully embrace their personal thoughts and views, must be an idiot.

Fortunately, the majority are happy to accept that different views are a good thing - it has kept this site alive for well over twenty years, for a start.
Emigrants.
B.A for Andy and it’s just began ;0)
Question Author
They’re immigrants as far as the country in which they reside is concerned.
The first man in the video voted against Brexit.
They are British emigrants, the whole point of your thread is that they are British.
Question Author
No, the whole point is that post Brexit, they are classed as immigrants.
alleluia !
Your post is entitled "Foolish ex-pats..."

For once I absolutely agree with you. As I've said often enough in the past, anybody who based their vote in the EU referendum (or indeed in any other plebiscite or election) on what politicians - of any persuasion - told them or promised them, was indeed foolish - extremely foolish, in fact.
//Only a fool living within Europe would have voted for Brexit,//
I know one who didnt vote at all and now goes on and on about Brexit saying 'you reap what you sow' ....
One reaps the weeds too; in this case, in the form of EU attitudes & general awkwardness. Still better they are out of control and being awkward, than still in control of us and being awkward.
didn't sqad re-immigrate from Spain after Brexit when it got too hot for him haw haw haw
I went to live in the US when I married my American husband. I became non UK domiciled. When my marriage ended I had the option of returning to the UK or living in Portugal where two of my sisters and their husbands had emigrated to and became legal residents of Portugal in 1969.They set up their first legal business then. I also became a legal resident. We all had tax numbers, medical numbers, exchanged driving licences and fulfilled all legal requirements for full residency. All family members in Portugal,18 of us, met all the Brexit deadlines and obtained the new required documents with ease. It appears that those experiencing problems now are those that did not go through the legal process correctly
My sister is a Spanish resident but she met all the criteria. She had no problems getting the legalities sorted.
Don’t calmck. You’ll upset him.
//Only a fool living within Europe would have voted for Brexit//

Is that the same as saying only a fool living in the UK would vote with the remainiacs?
Just to rub in salt. My medical user number is used for prescription discount. With this number I pay euros 29.50 for a 3 month supply. Without this I would pay euro 290.50!!
I am an emigrant no immigrant. Same as I was in the Us
calmck is bang on. Leading up to Brexit EUSSR citizens here and British citizens there had ample time to apply to stay where they wanted. The ones that Hymie is going on about didn't do that, end of.
Will Hymie and Gulliver still be banging their gums about Brexit in 10 years time ?
