The Bible has lots of prophecies. I don't negate them, because I sometimes prophesy that something will happen - we all do and we base it on what we know and see and extrapolate from known facts. I think that the ancients mostly did the same.
However, sometimes, just sometimes, there is an instinct come from nowhere that 'knows' a future happening. A scientist would explain this by saying that tiny ideas, of which we are not conscious, come together as an instinctive thought. I don't argue with that, I just know it happens sometimes.
Ancients foresaw things in their terms. We have to interpret in our lives. Over 30 years ago I knew a lady who inferred that 'the end of days' was upon us - and indeed, I looked at the then world and could fit happenings into the prophecies. I still can, but I'm cautious. We are not to know when the second coming and the end of days will happen. We are enjoined to be ready for it constantly, i.e. live a good life and do not be like the foolish virgins who let their lights go out.
Nothing wrong with that - the timescale is not, however, mine to determine and my experience is that almost any age can point to occurrences which seem to fulfil the prophecies.
