Didn't realise that you were bi-sexual Jim?
I didn't realise I'd said that I was. And in any case it's exactly none of your business.
//I can see a time when sperm banks will be where women will go to, so as to retain the human species, and only a small percentage of males retained to keep up stocks of sperm. lol //

I really can't, is that even a serious suggestion or a joke AOG, hard to tell with the 'lol' on the end?

I prefer men sexually, but consider myself bi, and I think that's possibly true for a lot of women, but surely when it comes to relationships you search not just for the sexual element but for someone you have things in common with, who understands you and who you understand, stands to reason that that's easier sometimes for people of the same sex, and sometimes it takes folks a little while to realise that. no more gay or bi people than there have ever been, people are just able to be more open about things now. x
I read recently that the latest meaning for lol is late onset lesbian.

/// Any thread develops its direction from the points people raise, and almost never does it stick directly to the OP. ///

Says one who is always telling others to keep threads on track.
It is on track, aog... to answer mushroom at 11:48, yes, of course :-)
I don’t believe that there is an increase, I believe it is now socially acceptable for women to choose their way in life whereas before it wasn’t
Think Nigel Farage could be a Major Donor to the Sperm Bank.

AOG - // … so wasn't it fair for the wife to stay comfortable at home to look after the children when they weren't at school, and to do a little cooking and cleaning in their spare time? //

There speaks a man who has never run a house and raised children full time!!!

Ask any mum with a couple of small children to look after and a house to sort out, how much 'spare time' she has!!!!!!
Andy and there you also have perhaps your reason for the rise in later life lesbians!!
because it's trendy ennit.
Do you seriously believe that Spath?
yep. More women able to 'come out' cus of society perception of it. Meaning, because it's a trend,. people feel they able to join it.

Also thinks like orange is the new black, and just society in general, making people more aware and open to the idea.

It's how trends work?? Else some people would still go around not wearing shoes.
A-H

"There speaks a man who has never run a house and raised children full time!!! "

That is the norm Andy, I would suggest that in 90% of "couples", the man has never run a house.

"Ask any mum with a couple of small children to look after and a house to sort out, how much 'spare time' she has!!!!!!"

Where there is a will there's a way. This again was the norm with both parties accepting the status quo. The man would look after the kids and the wife would go out and vice versa, also there were such things as "baby sitters".

It was no big deal and again was the norm, and had little to do with Lesbians.

Sqad - // That is the norm Andy, I would suggest that in 90% of "couples", the man has never run a house. //

That was certainly true a generation ago, but the number of working wives and mothers, combined with a less selfish ingrained attitude in most modern men means that this notion is drifting out of our culture as time passes.
By inferring it is a trend Spath you are suggesting that women would change sexuality and sleep with someone just because 'its trendy'
Which I am going to say is rubbish!
OK, you say, i say.. who cares. It's a comment on the thread.
A-H....I think that you may well be correct......luckily I will not be around to experience this, as i have great difficulty in understanding the world in which we live.
But that is my problem.

It's part of growing older, and living in a world inhabited by younger people.

I remember when I was in my teens and twenties, not understanding older people because I had not had the same life experience as them. Now I am sixty four and I don't understand people in their teens and twenties because they have not had the same life experience as me.

It feels odd, but I accept it as the way things are, and have always been.
