This seems to have slipped into nothingness. I hesitate to post because I can't do links; but there has been a by-election today, which, until the other day, occupied a lot of thought, and debate. Nothing has been heard of it here. Does anyone have any information? Turnout? Exit polls? Bit baffled. :)

One projection in the DTel, a Con or UKIP take and on the expected % split, projected forward to 2020 and the G-Election, Labour under Corbyn would secure only 73 seats in the House.....speculation of course but a bit of a sharp pull-up, perhaps.....

Polls don't close till 10 o'clock.
The lower the turnout the worse it is for Labour

Labout safe seat ?

I remember old Meachie in the first episode of Heart of Darkness
you know where the girl has been irradiated in a nuclear thingy and dies in her fathers arms played by Bob Peck - he turns into a tree in the last episode

Did he ever make it to Cabinet ?
Who played the rest of the father, Mr P?

Oh ....... I spent ages trying to explain to DTC that I had somehow hit a button which gave him BA and that I was working on trying to undo it because there were other answers coming in! It does not seem to have worked. When I have understood how to undo and redo I'll get on with it (it may well still stand).
just hit best answer again, jourdain, if there is one better in your view, of course....
:-)

Thank you, DTC. :)
Lets wait until Friday morning shall we ?I

if UKIP succeeds in getting one of its rare and almost unknown wins, than I will be the first to congratulate them.

I promise !

If Labour hold on to the seat that they have held for 45 years, then the status quo will have been maintained.

Fine, mikey :)
Whatever you want, Mikey but it could all be going down the dustpipe.
Surely there's no way Labour can lose this, is there?
Hoppy...we live in strange times !
God moves in a mysterious way when it comes to the ballot box, Hopkirk.....
Question Author
It was a very debatable question, Hopkirk, before Mr. Benn's speech. I have the feeling that that may just have convinced enough Labour voters to swing it for them. Myself, I am very 'middle of-the-road' these days.
Hoppy...let me predict the furore after the vote is announced !

Labour win...much reduced majority for Corbyn, therefore Corbyn is rubbish

or

UKIP win "glorious" victory for Party that was going to break the mould of British Politics !

or

Tory win....Tory Cabinet collapses in utter shock !
//Hoppy...we live in strange times ! //

Just an aside guys and gals. An old Chinese curse was, 'May you live in interesting times'
