i am concerned when i see muslims trying to implement sharia law in uk. 15 years ago i never heard of EDL or never took much notice of islam or anything like that, i knew there was national front and racist groups (braindead idiots ) but now im watching what is happening to our country and i have to agree with ukip and also EDL. also why are america so concerned with syria, every one knows the rebels are islamic terrorists. why ? oil ? n.w.o ? what ?

i cannot understand the world we live in today and i fear for my childrens future.

so you wouldn't want it, but wouldn't openly say so, that just about sums it up for me, this is the big problem, moderates who don't say anything, yet the hotheads get all the airtime, and some must have noticed Choudary talking with Stacey Dooley, his opinions should be discounted and thrown out, he is not just a radical but a very dangerous man, because he is so very persuasive in his arguments, but his words turn my stomach. What i do find amusing in a bizarre way is that he will run to the police to protect him if under threat, yet openly denounced them on that programme in no uncertain terms. Why do we put up with this nonsense, the police crack down on the likes of the EDL, no idea what happened about that march the other day, i only know the police were out in such force that they blocked off half of the capital, yours truly stuck in the middle of it as well, not for the first time.
How could lightbulb possibly disagree with his adopted peer group? He has chosen to follow islam and has surrendered his will to that belief. He may have reservations about islam but doesn't want to be thrown out of the club because he needs to belong, that is why he searched for a religion originally, he just wants to please his 'friends'.

muslims cannot live in peace with any other religion, be it hindu, sheik, bhuddists, christian etc just look at the violence in thailand and myanmar now. in the koran it clearly states that infidels should have their heads cut off and their fingers , look it up. sharia law clearly states that it is ik to have sex with a nine year old girl ...it discusts me
Where'd he go?
Naomi, if they asked me in the mosque then i would clarify my self, but no, i wouldnt walk into the mosque and randomly say i oppose it.

Islam does not say you cannot use common sense, something which you all seem to be lacking. Islam states that yo must abide my the laws of the land you live in, unless it goes against your religion. Now i came back to this thread because as usual, Naomi needed extra clarification as it seems she needs help to understand the simplest of things.
Lightbulb, so in any discussion on the subject in your mosque, you would openly oppose it? What reaction do you think you'd get?

And stop being rude. You're making yourself look silly.
Another thought. You say Islam states that Muslims must abide by the rules of the country in which they live. Why then do so many appear to want to change our law by introducing Sharia Law here – and why aren’t the rest of the Muslims telling them they’re wrong?
I agree with beezaneez about not understanding the world in which we live in.
I have become fearful about humanities future.
My limited knowledge of evolution pointed out that as a species we would become more sophisticated, unfortunately I don't see that
//Lightbulb, so in any discussion on the subject in your mosque, you would openly oppose it? What reaction do you think you'd get? //

Naomi, yet again you fail to read what i have said. I said i would not walk into a mosque and say i oppose it. If the mosque was having a debate on the topic however then i would make myself clear and say that i do not agree with bringing shariah law into Britain, this does not mean that i am against shariah law. I just know that Britain is not an islamic majority country and i respect that, as do so many others.

As for the reaction i would get, i doubt that i will be kicked out of the mosque as i am sure you will find, despite what the media says, that most muslims will agree with me.
I have just been reliably informed that sharia is not willy nilly the law of Pakistan, elements of it are in use and common sense prevails in judicial decisions (there isn't jury system), though I'm told that bribery and corruption is not uncommon, but that's another matter.
Lightbulb, //i am sure you will find, despite what the media says, that most muslims will agree with me. //

Actually, no, I don't find that. I find that most Muslims I speak to won't go against the grain - even if they'd like to - but there you are.

and how many muslims have you talked to?

In that case, i can say the same about atheists. That almost every atheist i have talked to are the most arrogant, the most absurd and the most ignorant people i have met.

Belatedly a first in life: I tick all the boxes. Thanks, 40W.
^^ :o)

Lightbulb, //how many muslims have you talked to?//

More to the point, perhaps, how many have you talked to about this?
lightbulb; But don't you think naomi has a point that the majority good Muslims by failing to criticise the 'bad' ones (in the film 30,000 to 100) are guilty of standing by and watching their religion being brought into disrepute. The militancy of this minority; demanding sharia law, attacking the standards of their host country will have, (and is having) the opposite effect of realising their objectives, and instead producing an anti-Islamic mood throughout the country and the world?
He's gone again.
i can choose to leave when i want. If you do not understand that i your problem. I have explained myself clearly. If you still do not understand i pity you.
In fairness naomi, lightbulb does have a point, not everyone can, or want to spend as much time on answerbank as some do, and a lack of immediate response doesn't indicate an unwillingness or an inability to reply, methinks :-)
Khandro, that makes no sense. He came back - he was here - but he still failed to answer your question.
