Quite a character - RIP David.
I met him a few times - a lovely man.
Oh dear. How sad .This good gentleman lived in Sutton Surrey as a lad.
He attended Cheam High School. He and his family where absent when his house received a direct hit from a V.1. Doodlebug.
Our eldest son was supposed to be the meeter and greeter at his old school when Mr Bellamy paid a visit.
Unfortunately our son waited at the Main school gate and Mr Bellamy arrived at the back entrance. What a let down. :-)
Rip. Quite a character.
I liked him, RIP David.

Very saddened.

Remember Lenny Henry impersonating David Bellamy on Tiswas ?

// Can’t ever remember him being called an environmentalist in his hay day. A naturalist, yes//

I thought he was primarily a botanist, but I may be wrong.

//he can now reflect on his sins in a the hot chamber//
