Well said DT. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy turkey day x
Should we really be celebrating a day that celebrates the genocide of a great and proud indigenous people?

Shouldn't we instead replace the feasting with fasting and create a National Day of Atonement and mourning to acknowledge the genocide of indigenous people that is central to the creation of the United States?

I was in the states recently and was talking to the native American elders who were in the Bidai tribe and it really is a sad story of genocide, the rape of the land and peoples and land thievery on an unimaginable scale.

Instead of celebrating these heinous acts let us take this day as a day of rememberance and reflection.
Well it was hardly DT's fault.

Oh so let's turn Christmas Day into a day of atonement and wailing for all the displaced Palestinians and the wrong-doings, slaughter and rape that the Crusaders have done, never mind all the Taliban, Afghanis and Iraqis that we have recently killed.

Come off it.
Treehorn - lighten up mate...
perhaps the non celts should atone for all the celts they drove off their lands.
Please don't find a reason to cancel Paddy's Day ...

DT - Aldi Update :

The Puligny is 2011 - so I bought a bottle - the Bordeaux is 2004 - can you check the vintage for me please

They have between 12/24 bottles of the various offers - the Batemans Ale seemed to be selling very quickly, but most of the rest should be there for a day or two I reckon.

04 is a very good year for the Bordeaux...........none on sale in Truro, dave - worth stocking up on......

11 is very young - and the reports on Burgundy are "mixed" -
one could fear a fruity vintage lacking some depth, freshness and nerve. However, early tastings suggest that they may be better than expected. Sorry to be on the hedge on this one......do you have the domaine details and then I can price check.....a Leflaive comes in around 18 to 20 a bottle for example (in a case)
Happy Thasnksgiving to Pastafreak and Clanad

Who are they thanking for what?

Sorry to our American cousins, but I really have no idea.

Is it thanking God for getting rid of the Brits?
Are Thanksgiving Day and Gobble Gobble Day separate events?
