I went into a Bugdens supermarket en route to meet a friend who lives a fair distance from me and although I know their prices are high I was taken aback at the price of the red peppers 1.12 each and they were certainly not fresh and crisp!!! I decided against buying one of those because of the price but I needed a couple of cooking apples & they were almost as bad at 1.96 a kilo. madness. just had to let off steam!

I love to cook, and don't mind paying a little extra for good quality produce, though i draw the line at those prices, for that i would expect a pack of 3, which a lot of Supermarkets seem to be selling them in this way, hope it was tasty all the same.
Forget my last post, feel daft now, seeing as you didn't buy it, will teach me to read properly in future, sorry.
I know how you feel I am absolulely horrified at the cost of my weekly shop now for me my six year old and my baby!! It includes no luxuries anymore just the very basics and its costing me 70 a week now! I used to be able to get loads for that but bearing in mind I spent that today and it didnt include any crisps chocolate fresh meat etc how the hell is it all costing so much these days?? I used to be able to buy 3 packs of pasta for 1 and now they are 78p a pack. Oh god you have got me started now lol What is going on with our economy????

quite frightening I think. Last week whilst in town Aldi had a pack of three peppers for something like 68p and they were so fresh. this week the price of them has gone up but still at 1.09 for three, a bargain. I really don't know where this is all going to end and its even more worrying when it comes to the winter months and we all have to find the extra money for heating costs......oh god, you've definitely got me going now!!!!!!!
OMG!! i am now in rant mode too, i shop at Aldi on a regular basis, i find the prices very acceptable, HOWEVER!! you have to check your receipt after paying. May seem trivial to some, but when i buy Tomatoes on offer, i don't expect to be paying the higher price for vine Tomatoes, and also i once had a Garden Parasol on my receipt for 30 which i didn't have.
Christ dont get me started on the winter either lol I think we are heading for a big downwards slide. But it is comforting to know that its not just me that is struggling. It makes me laugh that the government bang on about healthy living, five a day etc and then at the supermarket you can buy 36 packs of crisps for 3 branded crisps at that but I cant seed my little family of 3 a decent meal with fresh meat and veg in it for that price!!! When I am sure I used to be able to make something simple and nutritious for that say 18 months ago! It really is only the cra* in supermarkets that is not stupidly priced! I mean when have you ever paid more than a quid for a red bloody pepper?????????
GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
p.s our family is trying to sell a house left from my nans estate at the moment and the estate agent wants us to drop the price by 40K!!! Now if that aint economy going wrong on a house that was valued at 240K then dropped to 220K to be dropped by a further 40K then i dont know what is! We are not going to sell for that price so hopefully this will all end soon and we can all actually afford to live normal lives again!!!!
Good god look what you have started in me tonight lol But I feel better now he he he x x x
