If all BBC local radio was switched off, would it bother you?

Would you even notice?

I reckon it is surprisingly amateurish, and a waste of money.

The only time I listen is when it’s snowing badly.
I've never heard of it. Had a Google and my area isn't covered anyway- so, no.
I suppose it depends on the quality of the station, no complaints with my local station. Yes, I would miss it.
No it wouldn't bother me, I even find the BBC national radio getting more amateurish and puerile daily.

Really Pixie? Surely there is a BBC station for your area.

It used to be useful for letting people know which schools are closed by snow.
However there is now text, email, parentmail, Twitter, Facebook and probably other techie ways.
There doesn't appear to be. We never had local news anyway, because this area also usually covers London, so that is all they are interested in.

I have always listened to Radio Tay. I can't stand programmes with endless nattering and stupid presenters, I endure Radio 2 when at the doctor's surgery and that is bad enough.
I swap between Absolute and Radio X and occasionally Mix 96 for local traffic. I avoid as much chatter and adverts as possible.
Wouldn't miss the BBC at all.
Hoppy....I'd be distraught! Radio Northampton's pretty good all round.....though I only listen regularly between nine and twelve in the morning.......
Bernie Keith in the morning is bliss to wake up to and way, way better than any other presenter I've heard...
He's a great interviewer....plays the music he wants to play which is fine by me....and his Saturday night rock and roll show is the only time I spend in my kitchen really....more room to dance and sing along....

Bernie did tell me last year that he's thinking of retiring or having a change......I hope we've changed his mind.....I don't miss many people but I'd miss him...... :-)
I do like radio leicester its ok with Down to earth and best lcfc coverage and a silly clueless quiz game on sundays
I also enjoy Bernie Keith and Geoff Barker
plus you get to voice your opinions on local issues on air and get instant reaction. (a bit like on here!)
but mainly listen to bbc radio 2
Like it for weather warnings especially during snow, traffic news as I have to drive into Norwich some days and some programmes eg Rodeo Norfolk country music programme.
Wouldn't bother me at all.
It certainly would bother me, I'd miss my favourite show.

And then there's my other favourite as well, must say it's been hilarious this season with the Baggies and Blues fans ringing Franksy winging and whining.

It would bother me as Radio Ulster, for those in N.I, is really good.
My mum used to listen to it during snowy times to find out if our school was shut.
I have listened to it while driving late in the evening with OH. Its phone-ins could be quite amusing sometimes. Some stupid people out there!
But, no, I wouldn't miss it.
We don't have one so wouldn't bother me at all. I do sometimes listen to our local non BBC station for local news and weather.
They should all be closed down and leave local radio to the commercial stations. The money saved should be funneled into making high quality TV programs.
