I've been proposed to in a field under a tree, on a beach, in a hotel bar and on a ride at Alton Towers! Never the more typical scenario of in a restaurant over dinner etc.....
I proposed to my wife over the garden gate at her parents' house. She was wearing a low-cut sun top at the time, and I haven't seen it since. (That was in 1962.) I say that the sun top was the cheese in the trap, but she insists that it wasn't. Whatever, I still like being married to her.
In a pub.
'What would you say if I ask you in 6 months time to marry me?'
My reply, 'ask me in 6 months time'
Romance is alive and kicking in the West of Scotland.
My wife says that, yes, she still has that enticing sun top, but she doubts that she could now fit into it. Yes, Bazile, love is the better word, and, no, the novelty has definitely not worn off!
Sorry smow, but over dinner, in a restaurant ....... It was the first day of our first holiday together, can you imagine the atmosphere for the rest of the holiday if I had said no.
