Boris - the best bull-sh***ing bumbler this country has ever known.
It's being so cheerful that keeps you going eh Clarion!
Please stop it, aren't things bad enough without you reminding us every day?
10clarion unfortunately I think ur right it will cont to spread. However I don’t envy boris and he’s damned if he does, damned If he doesn’t
Take no notice LB, I have stopped reading so much negativity - little wonder folk are depressed.
So who is this next PM you speak of?
Even to me, it seems to be getting senseless.
I seem to have got to a position where my sister, I and my two daughters can work together, breathing over each other all day every day up to Christmas eve and look after my granddaughter. Then we have to avoid each other 25th, 26th... and then go back to working together 27th. What exactly is this going to solve?
Would you prefer them to stop you going to work?
bobbin do you ever question anything in life?
Not particularly. That isn't the only alternative though.
One principle or the other would be useful though.
"So who is this next PM you speak of?"

At the risk of labouring the gag, Liz Truss has some support.

clarion, isolation and lockdown HAS worked in various parts of the country but I agree, the Tier system has been disappointing.
That is all we have now, so just buckle down and do what you are told.
//bobbin do you ever question anything in life?//

Maybe you missed it Prudie. A just questioned pixie's point.
He point was flawed. We need to reduce social interactions. So either we stop peopel going to work or we stop them meeting socially or we restrict both . So am asking pixie which she prefers.
I don't think it's flawed, bobbin... either is fine, but this isn't one or the other.
It's fine for me to work with family members 24th and 27th, but unsafe for me to see them 25th, 26th. Just wondering who that was protecting and how.
The lessons of pandemics past is that they don't go on forever. Even more so when medical science is more advanced than ever before.

I'm miserable right now. We all are. But the pandemic has an end.
I didn't miss anything with respect, read pixie's situation - who can justify/explain that? She is allowed to be with someoen one day, then not for 2 days but then it's OK again. People can do as they're told but surely questioning the inane at the same time is allowed?
sqad and who is going to tell you off, or grass you up if you go from one tier to another, i am sure that people will do this. Do as your told doesnt seemed to have worked so far. Those on AB may do as Boris directs, but many won't. We can only hope that this vaccine is rolled out quick enough to make a real difference. If the varient takes a hold then who know where this nightmare will end.
pixie i totally agree.
its bonkers all of it.
// Do as your told doesnt seemed to have worked so far. Those on AB may do as Boris directs, but many won't. //

As I said on the other thread, you're both exaggerating the scale of non-compliance and overlooking that anyway you don't need total compliance to bring the epidemic under control. If the rules were sensible, consistent and implemented for a proper period of time then they would have the necessary effect, even if not everybody agreed with or stuck to them. Most of us, here on AB and in the UK as a whole, follow the law, even the stupid stuff we don't like.
Can't. Tier 4 is already lockdown. There isn't anywhere left to go after a while.
