Christmas Dinner Starter

Oven space will be at a premium on Christmas Day so I want to serve a hot starter for Christmas dinner that I can cook in advance and reheat in the microwave. Does anyone have any suggestions, apart from soup? I would have liked to do a goat's cheese tart with puff pastry but I've read that pastry gets a bit soggy when reheated in the microwave.

I always have soup or smoked salmon you can heat them both in the microwave.

Perfect soup for Christmas day and of course any left over can be frozen. You could offer a choice of soup or seafood cocktail (or the potted crab)

Some kind of warm terrine maybe? There are a few recipes for warm ones on the internet. I would have thought they would be ok in a microwave.
Scallops in pastry
Mulled wine?
Smoked salmon ravioli with prawn sauce
Chilled champers? No cooking involved.
French onion soup and crusty bread
I supposed baked camembert or brie might work in a microwave. Baked with garlic, rosemary and served with melba toasts or crusty bread. Would probably be a sharing plate though.
How about grilled avocados with a goats cheese filling and caramel onion relish.

We have a choice of two on the 25th,
A prawn cocktail on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce with chopped apple in tiny pieces also a couple of segments of an easy peel tangerine ( small) , cherry toms quartered and Marie Rosé sauce with sprinkled nutmeg....or
Melon balls with Serrano ham
^ and fresh king prawns too of course
Choice - take it or leave it!
What is it about xmas that makes people eat so much?
I would go with a cold starter such as a prawn / crab / lobster cocktail and may serve a palate cleanser such as sorbet in between.
