Reduce the supply voltage or vary the DC voltage with a variable resistor.

you got a typo stanley.... i am sure you meant Increase the supply voltage.


Whilst increasing the voltage or putting a resistor in series with the circuit may work you might find increasing the voltage blows the circuit and putting a resistor in line to limit the current could just stop it working all together.


Would need to see the circuit to suggest ways to reduce the current.

For a fixed resistance, current is proportional to voltage, so stanleyman is correct, reducing the voltage will reduce the current.


An alternative solution would be increase the separation between the anode and cathode in the plating bath.


Altering the distance between electrodes in the electrolyte changes the current flowing through the circuit.
