In what context could 16 ounces equate to over two thirds of a ton? Any ideas/leads would be appreciated. Happy New Year to everyone.

Maybe in the context of these ounces?

An ounce (often turns up in GK xwords) is a Snow Leopard, which can weigh up to 90lbs. So, 16 big cats could weigh about 1440lbs, which I think is about or over 2/3 ton. Happy new year to you too.
