Hardly good news for any one concerned ..the driver of the train and the families of these boys .They may have been comitting a crime but two mothers have lost their sons .I can't see any joy in this whichever way you look at it .It's not as if they were raping and murdering is it ?

While it is not good news for anyone, you have to say that for men in their 20s to be running around on rail tracks when trains are running it is pretty stupid.

Maybe if they were 16 or 17 you could understand it.

The two men who died were 19 and 21, other men arrested were 23 and 25.

As you know, I drive Underground trains, although a different line to the one in the article, as shaney says, not so good for the driver, I have a friend whose had three 'one unders', the last about ten years ago, he still shakes even now.

These Grafiti artists, they not only carry the paint they use, they carry wire clippers and all sorts of tools, so they damage other equipment besides painting the trains.

I don't know exactly what can be done, but I wouldn't want them dead, having said that, i'd hope that this article would make others think twice before the vandalise more trains, but I doubt it.

I can understand everyones point of view here ..my problem is what does "Good news is so rare these days " mean ?
Does it mean that you are thrilled to bits that these lads have been killed ?
I know they are menace to people like Lonnie and cause a blight on the Tube etc ....but come on ....that driver must be having nightmares and the perpetrators ...bad as they were didn't deserve someone to be really pleased that they have been killed.

I'm not advocating the death penalty for graffitti vandals generally but hey let's take our bonuses when we can. Two less of these scum bags on earth is good news if you ask me. Our towns and cities are full of the work of these lowlives so forgive me if I see this as rare piece of fortune. I do of course sympathise with the driver, not a pleasant experience.

Loosehead, to be honest I find your posting sick! How can you call the death of two young people "good news"? Two extended families have just been given this tragic news and will be traumatised beyond belief, siblings and parents devastated, friends in shock. The driver too will be feeling awful, having tried so hard to stop and then having to see the mangled bodies of these two young people. His family too will suffer while he tries to cope with what has happened. A difficult job too for the emergency services. These were not murderers or rapists, they were young people doing something they shouldn't have been doing but not actually harming anyone physically. So I find your views disgusting. I rarely get annoyed with anyone on the AB, but I find your posting distastful, arrogant and incredibly stupid! You chose the right name, that's for sure.

Two people die, those trying to stop them witnessed a horrible way to die, the emergency services had to clear up the mess, people living nearby saw the bodies, two families are bereaved. The poor train driver will probably blame himself for not being able to stop in time, and you call the loss of two lives good news? I think your comment was sick.

Cannot agree with you at all on this one!. You cannot judge people by their worst ( alleged ) action. How do we know that they haven't done other good, kind or indeed brave deeds - apart from their anti social and illegal activities. I was once saved from a very unpleasant and dangerous situation by someone who others thought was a bad lot due to his vandalistic tendancies. He will always be a hero to me however.

Loosehead, I am with you.

The actions of vandals puts peoples lives at risk, decent folk.

The cost of damage puts fares up, and I can assure you anybody who harps on that this is terrible etc, are amongst the first to complain that fares rocket.

It also puts a strain on the the police who have to deal with such troublemakers. Especially the British Transport Police, who have to deal with the threat of terrorism. Slightly more serious.

Yes, I feel for the drivers. I do not know, but I imagine this is sadly a part of their job. I am sure it must arise at their training. But whatever, hats off to the profession.

No doubt, the killed youths were druggies or glue sniffers aswell. They probably haven't got jobs and steal things.

I also believe there is a higher chance the two were immigrants as well. I can not assume this, but they probably are.

Yep, good riddence to bad people. By their untimely death, I can safely say decent folks lives have improved.

May they rot in hell.
