Further, 'the one that has to be paid back' no longer does anyway. The original proposal was to give everyone a £200 discount off their energy bills, to be repaid over 5 years. However Rishi Sunak later doubled the discount to £400 and scrapped the requirement for it to be paid back.
TTT seems to be unaware that
(a) 1.4 million pensioners are in receipt of Pension Credit ; and
(b) 40% of people in receipt of Universal Credit are in employment.
