Are so many courier companies no longer delivering to Northern Ireland.
4 orders cancelled in the last 2 days plus companies no longer able to supply cat food.
Can I thank Brexit for this?
Yes
With no Brexit Free Trade Agreement between the UK and EU and time fast running out with just 10 days until the Transition Agreement runs out, many companies still don’t know how they’ll trade in a post Brexit world. This includes couriers who are starting to suspend Northern Ireland Courier services before the New Year deadline.
Brexit uncertainty,.... you may find things will change over the next few weeks now we have a deal. You may find it easier to source things via the South for a while. Most major companies will have established trade routes with Eire, there won't be a barrier between North and South just Northern Ireland and the rest of the Uk
Also - (sorry it’s slightly off NI topic) do so many companies not deliver to Isle of Man or Channel Islands? It’s been this way for as long as I can recall (so it’s not brexit). They are part of U.K. after all.
No pasta royal canin.
We are already seeing a rise in heating oil, and not the normal winter rise, considering 70% of the houses in NI are oil heated we are over a barrel!
Martin, you can still buy your cat food from companies that have outlets in Northern Ireland, such as VetPet - maybe not as cheap as elsewhere but you can get it delivered to your home
It’s a lot more expensive than a GB based supplier almost £30 a month more!
Also on speaking to NI suppliers they are not sure if they will have any issues.
It's better than doing without in an emergency, though - I'm sure things will be back to normal delivery soon enough, but in the meantime buy a month's supply so you won't be panicking.
i dont understand why brexit uncertainty would cause this - surely brexit is about our relationship with the EU and theirs with us, not about sending things between 2 points in the uk?
