I recently did an auto scan on a new tv (I already had one done on my recorder which was fine)--but a couple of channels on the tv scan were giving " freeze" or " signal drop"--- I was told by a friend to do another scan, but first take the aerial out and scan to clear the present channels. Then put the aerial back and scan again. My question is:- does a fresh scan not automatically clear the previous one?? ( without having to clear it as described above ) such as when a new channel comes available and a scan is performed.

I would certainly expect it to do.
I did re-scan & the troubles soon returned, tho not on HD channels. My newer tv (in other room) doesnt freeze nor drop signals, tho both are fed from same ariel.

But does a new scan erase the previous one? (without having to take the aerial out etc.) as mentioned in my post)
