Does anyone speak Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Romanian, Slovakian or Slovenian? I need translations for the following sentence: "Fish is food, not rubbish! Don't kill the discards ban on Monday!"

Please don't direct me to babelfish et al.

According to Google translate, this is it in Slovenian:

Ribe je hrana, ne smeti! Ne ubil zavrže prepoved ponedeljek!
Google translations I'm sure you will find something there
I just don't know how accurate it is! Sorry :)
I dont even understand what you are saying here in English.

Sorry but from experience I know the transliteration of babel/google et al are pants.

I want something that is going to be recognisable as correct to the native speakers and not a subject of derision.

Thanks though.
Google translator is generally regarded as being not very good, especially for sentences. Maybe for single words, but, even so, treat it with caution.
are there any websites for action groups in these countries? They might contain similar slogans.
Is it something to do with catching fish and then having to dump it because the fishermen are already over their quota?
"Fisk er mad, ikke vrøvl! Må ikke dræbe udsmid forbud på mandag!" Danish - using no nonsense as no rubbish as that means nothing in literal terms in the lingo....

Yes it is to do with the Fish Fight. There is a vote on Monday in Brussels and I am trying to help the Fish Fighters get an accurate translation.

Hate to be pernickety but what is your source there DTC, knowledge or, ermm, babel et al???
can get romanian for you
I suppose if they could sell all they could catch there'd eventually be no problems with dumped fish as there'd be a time when there were none to be caught.
