Mary I, daughter of Henry VIII, who succeeded Edward VI in 1553, died in 1558, as did Reginald Pole, the last Roman Cathholic Archbishop of Canterbury. (I'm not sure about the 'few hours apart' bit, however.)

Yup Mary I Tudor and Cardinal Pole.

Same night

Politically important - the see of canterbury was vacant at the time of ELizabeth's coronation - i think she chose Whitgift - and E could not find any bishop to crown according to EdwardVI's rite and so E is the last one to be crowned in Latin according to the RC rite -surprisingly consdiering what a protestant at heart she was.
