The RAC make me laugh. Every bank holiday they spout the same rubbish.

Advice. The roads will be extra busy. Take extra care, plan your journey, set out early. AND, there MAYBE some delays if you need roadside assistance. The latter is the norm.🤣🤣

Anyone going away this week or weekend must be doing for their young kids. Cant think of any other reason. The UK is just one big traffic jam. Thank god i can go 15mins in any direction to enjoy my sport.

I don't envy my wife driving to our house in Christchurch today. Leaving London at 1400 on the M25 and M3. Worst possible time. Gridlock awaits her me fears.

There are drivers out there who haven't been driving for as long as you may have been.  The advice could be useful to the inexperienced and if it isn't, it does no harm to remind everyone.

Watching TV just now and the queues of buses, cars etc. would put me off travelling at Easter.  Trains cancelled because of work being carried out on rails - why do they always seem to do this at holiday time?

Presumably because public transport is most heavily used during working week rush hours and most people are off work on Bank Holiday weekends.

11.14 True Naomi, but a lot of people are travelling at holiday times and their plans are put in chaos.

But i dare say its an opportunity for the RAC to come across as looking after their members who pay a monthly premium. But when you really need them you will either not see them at all, or you will wait many hours due to them not wanting to employ enough engineers so they can pay their shareholders even more.

Never had a problem with our AA membership.It is included with our Bank account. One BH my wife's Lupo broke down as she drew up at her late fathers house in the Midlands. A quick phone call and she was relayed by two lowloaders who met midway at a service area and the car was off loaded at the dealership where it was opened up for her arrival. The AA then drove her to our front door. Great service.

Lucky you. Take a look at the many reviews for RAC & AA.

Both companies like many other companies put the shareholder first, thats why its gone down the pan. They had more engineers back in the 60s & 70s.🤣🤣

nicebloke has a point but people tend to buy insurance on price and you only find out where the savings have been made when you come to make a claim. Breakdown cover is insurance by another name.

The advice of finding an easier route also makes me laugh. If there was an easier route I'm pretty sure that would be chocker blocked also. Hang on, it is.🤣🤣
