Pluto?

Question Author

there is my superpower again, I can make people pretend to be thick!

Earth?

Are you this annoying in real life?

Have a nice day, I'm off to do some work for Oxfam.😁

For those who don't know, the 4 giant planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Just looked it up. NEPTUNE

Poor one. If people have no interest in astronomy then they wouldn't know the 4 giant planets.

When I was at school in the 70s there were nine planets.  Recently Pluto was demoted so I know there are eight planets.  I've just googled and learned that of the eight planets, four are terrestrial, two are ice giants and two are gas giants.  I didn't know this and I bet it's not common knowledge.  Therefore, I'd say we don't just walk amongst you, we surround you!!

10:21, it's working then! I'm living rent free in wolf's head. Must do more of these. Guess what wolf, you are allowed to ignore posts you are not interested in.

As usual people have missed the point. The answer does not matter, the answer given is commical. Surely everyone knows that Venus is not a giant. The answer was one of 2 Neptune or Uranus, any of those would have been a sensible answer. Neptune is slightly smaller so that's the correct answer. Of course most people over 5 know the planets I learnt them in infant school we had a wall chart.

Folk might know the names of the planets but would you expect them all to know their sizes in order or their order from the sun?

I do quizzes now and again and I need to think or write, "MY Very Easy Method, Just Say U kNow (Planets)" for their order.

I don't have one for their sizes.

//Surely everyone knows that Venus is not a giant. //

If they've no interest in astronomy, why would they?  You're really stretching it with this one, TTT.

The other day the awful Shaun Wallace, chasing only 12, with the clock below 30 seconds, was asked the following:

'What sign of the zodiac contains the letter V?'

He ummed and ahed for 11 seconds before saying 'pass' - needless to say, he lost (again).

Talk about throwing a match - a ten-year-old could have got that!

-- answer removed --

It seems that TTT doesn't know the difference between uninformed and thick. According to his own definitions that makes him thick.

Question Author

do people not learn the basics in school anymore? We had charts all over the walls I knew the planets, oceans, continents etc when I was in infant school.

Must do better

I can usually find ridiculously 'thick' answers on the chase but this isn't one of them.

Quality not quantity required

They probably do learn the basics but unless they're interested they don't remember.  I don't doubt we all do it with some things.

And spelling ToraToraTora. Some of the spelling on here is  'commical'.

Question Author

we don't generally point out obvious typos NMA because we all do it.
