Reading of the various posters having pain in their knees and legs, I am now suffering quite painful knees (ie clickety click).

In order to avoid horrendous pain - is there anything I can buy, use etc to ease and ward off the pain for the future. Thanks

If you are overweight getting down to a healthy weight can be a great help for painful knees.

yea you're right there Barry - I am deffo overweight but can't seem to do anything as I am lethargic and lazy LOL

even sitting at the computer and trying to put legs behind chair legs - pulls and pulls so much
i think glucosamine has some peer-reviewed evidence
Well stop trying to do it!
Keep as active as you can and still keep using your knees. I have arthritis everywhere and have been told to keep my joints going and keep using stairs as long as I can even if it hurts. I have been told that by doctors and consultants.

And I'm lazy too!!
But don't overdo it or try to wind your legs round chair legs! ;0)
JJ this worked for me, here is a recipe, it's nothing mysterious, natural anti inflammatories. I have been taking a shot glass of this every day for the last 7 years:

Had lost a wee bit of weight beginning of last year - like a stone and half and sure just put it on again.

Have to get onto the old mind-set again for my knees at lease. They are killing me as I type and I don't type with my toes LOL

thanks for that TTT - I don't like cider vinegar - last time I took it (apparently to lower diabetes) - it wreaked havoc on my fillings of my teeth.
I still use stairs at home, but not stairs unknown to me. I will live in a bungalow as a last resort!
have you got straight stairs lottie? Before my joint replacements i rented a stairlift for a year - it was great cause it gave me more nergy to do other stuff rather than reserve it for the stair journey
JJ it's mixed with 3 other things all more powerful.
Ibuleve maximum strength gel
Bednobs. What a great idea , renting a chair lift. Excellent for anyone recovering from lower limb surgery , but not long term .
Try descending the stairs backwards (slowly with care!)
it was £500 for the year anne, which for me was an utter bargain
Bednobs, no our stairs are not straight they turn and were purpose built. It would have to be a one off stair lift and would also mean house alterations, so we are talking thousands. And I am quicker than a stairlife. On tired days i admit going up monkey style. Besides that the stairs are in me middle of the room and would be totally out of place and really spoil our old house which is over 250 years old. The original staircase was really steep and in a cupboard! ;0)

Beds, a bargain right enough. You appear to have the ideal staircase for further use. ( you won’t need them again though ) :-)
Have you tried tubigrips for support?
