why do you say "go to the end of the que" and not "end of the line"?

I say "go to the end of the queue" instead of "go to the end of the line" because it's a queue.

queue is English and line is American

stand in a line ( ie form a queue to those damned Yanks), can also naturally mean to the English, form up in ranks as army servicemen do
