It's quite complicated if you don't have the crossword.

The preamble says-
In LEONARD'S PUZZLE a quotation and it's sources (the second name and initial in ODQ 5,6 &7) run clockwise in the perimeter. The quotation has affected every answer and itself as well. Lengths given are entry lengths. Chambers (2008) is recommended.
