Was standing outside the swanky veg shop just an hour ago - picked up a fig. Forgive my ignorance - do you eat it with the skin on. Ta

Just picked masses of figs from my trees. Some to be eaten with skins. Others to make fig purée for breakfast

We have a fig tree which produces loads of figs which all go in the bin. I hate those tiny seeds with a vengeance.
Send them to me!!!
I adore figs. I'd only had dried...when I was a child...and discovered fresh 5 or 6 years ago.
Drizzle honey on it and place in 200c oven for 15 minutes. Then have with Greek yogurt. The whole thing, skin and all.
You are making my mouth water, I love figs, both fresh and dried ones.
I have only eaten a fresh fig once - I couldn't make it to the bathroom :-(

Tonya-v - that's my first fig ever. Will eat it tomorrow along with fresh blackberries. Ummmm.
Mmmmm fresh blackberries, lots of them growing wild where I live. Might have to visit Tesco and get some fresh cream.
When I was young we always had a box of dates and a box of figs at Xmas. The figs were crystallised.

well had my fig and blackberries with a spoonful cornflakes and a little cream and it was all delicious. will be definitely be buying more figs.
When I worked in Albania, the fig sellers went along the beaches selling them - just like we would do with ice cream. Fresh and delicious.
You can eat figs either sweet or savoury. They go well with meats like Parma ham, and cheeses.

Pasta I love mine wrapped in Parma ham, with goats cheese and toasted pecans
