Too much sport. Before anyone says that there are other channels I agree. BUT. I pay my licence fee for this. And it has gone up in price since last year.
What other soaps are there on the BBC? EE is the only one I know of.
I do believe Canary is being funny... ;-)
Next thread..."Too many moaning too much about the BBC?"...
ITV have more (primetime) soaps than the Beeb.
Surely Casualty and Holby City are soaps, as are Waterloo Road and River City. Not forgetting The Archers
Barry, Waterloo Road ended five years ago.
yes canary, I have never understood why people watch soaps, mind numbing unrealistic BS but each to their own.
wpc 56 is a soap isnt it?
people might remember that TIC stands for tongue in cheek
It seems there is a narrow line between soap operas and dramas.
years ago there was a great cop show called "The Bill" it was an hour long show about uniformed coppers with a decent story each week. Then gawd knows why, they cut it to half and hour and turned into Eastenders in a cop shop! Ruined it!
I believe the emoji for TIC is :-J
Ah, I didn't realise Casualty and Holby City were soaps.

Is Doctors still on? I've never watched it.
and to think, I believed TIC stood for This Is Canary.

Every day is a school day.

Not forgetting Doctors, not so much a soap as a sanitizing hand gel.
the Archers must be the oldest soap of the lot? Unless Mrs Dale's Diary is still broadcasting somewhere on BBC27.
The Archers have been going since 1950 - I am way older than that...
Bobbie 22. "Too much sport". Apart from MOTD and MOTD2, and the odd bit of cricket (apparently) what other sports are covered by the BEEB on a weekly basis?
the world's longest-running drama, according to Wiki. I can remember Walter Gabriel me ol pal me ol beauty but I expect his great-grandchildren are now ag labs.
Casualty is another one that started as a good drama with different story lines each week but got turned into EastEnders in a hospital.
