As has been discussed many times this year it's the main thing some people are convinced they couldn't cope without.
People don'y buy newspapers any more; they get their news from the internet, so they have no substitute for toilet paper.
Absolutely ridiculous and selfish. A toilet tissue manufacturer stated in the first lockdown panic that they would always be able to supply enough for the needs of the country with no shortages.
At least if we die of covid the Brits will have the cleanest backsides in the graveyard.
I was talking to a bloke whilst out and about today and he reckons it's partly because more people are working from home now - maybe he has a point ...
We've only been using toilet paper for 150 years or so. We can do without it, many people choose not to use it
^ Do they ??
Yes, my daughter and her family don't use it at home. They keep a roll in for visitors, that's all
I usually buy loo roll in bulk anyway but I can understand if you're going into lockdown and unable to leave your house, you don't want to run out. Having said that, supermarkets and local grocers will be open so no need to panic buy.
What do they use as a substitute? I'm curious.
Barry - what do they use then??
also, it never goes out of date
In days of old when Knights were bold
Lavatory Paper wasn't invented
They wiped their ass on a blade of grass and walked off quite contented.
Smowball, they have a bidet and washable cloths. It works very well for them.
I think I'll stick with t. paper that works well for me !

I remember an Indian restaurant being fined a lot of money some years back when an Inspector fund a large bowl with brown water in it in the kitchen and was horrified to discover that the workers went to the toilet, used their hand to wipe their backsides and dipped the offending hand into the brown water to 'clean' it - ughhhhh !!

This has been asked, and answered, many times...and there's no "panic" involved.
Shirley, they are vegan eco-warrior no-wasters so don't use a lot of things most people use. I must stress she is very clean in body and home :D Apart from her children who are never happier than when they are playing in mud.
No wonder I won't eat out !!!
No matter how you wipe after toileting the main thing is strict hygiene.
Put me off Indian restaurants for a time I can tell you Theland !
Old kid's joke ...

> Which hand do you wipe your bum with, your left hand or your right one?
>> My right one
> Eurgh, I use paper!
