We always go to Abergavenny food festival, always thought it's the best one.
Had a bit of difficulty parking. About a quarter of a mile from town centre was best we could do. We both struggle with walking but thought it would be worth it.
Got to the entrance. You have to buy a wristband to get in at £10 each. They were not on sale at the entrance as they usually are. They had set up little booths around the edges of town. We were told the nearest place we could get a wristband was near to where we had parked. That meant a quarter of a mile walk back to buy them then another quarter of a mile back to get in.
It was too much for us so we went home. That was a 60+ mile round trip for nothing. What a waste of a day and a very disappointing one too.

Frustrating indeed and what a stupid way to do things! You'd think they'd put a booth as close as possible.
£10 to attend a food festival! What do you get for that - lots of free samples?
Strange that, Caran. That the wrist bands weren't for sale at the door.
I can understand them selling them at the booths but not selling them at the door also makes no sense.
Very disappointing for you and Mr Caran though.
Sorry to hear your day out was spoiled. Seems pretty silly not to sell wristbands at the venue.
How silly of them to turn custom away, I'll bet you weren't the only ones either - what a shame, I know you love it there.

It was even more expensive on Saturday apparently, it cost £13 each.
You do get lots of free samples and I always used to find lots of things to buy.
We have our own Food Festival here in the forest on 6th of October so am looking forward to that one.
Do you ever go to the food festival at the NEC, Caran ?. They give out loads of freebies and samples there.
If wristbands weren't available as stated here then I'd contact them to complain.

We have a three day Flower and Food Festival here in Dundee every year. Although buying tickets in advance on-line is advised (and cheaper) you can buy on entry.

Mamya the festival is spread out over the whole town.
It is quite a walk to get to the different venues.
Not knowing they had changed the situation of the booths we went to the main arena which is the indoor market with the outdoor market at the rear. There was no booths available there this year.
I'd contact anyway to advise them that they have made it difficult for those less able to trot all across town.
Sorry to hear this Caran, what a shame for you both.
Stick to AB and sod ABergavenny ;-)
Don't know where the idea came from, you pay ten pounds for the privilege of spending a further ten or twenty pounds at a trade stand.
