I spend a bit more time these days entering competitions and free prize draws and participating in online surveys if there is a chance to win some vouchers.

Has anyone won anything this way? I just wondered if I was wasting my time.

Thanks, Danny. I know you've had a fair bit of luck with crosswords and the postcode lottery.
My star sign is supposedly lucky ;-(

Two members of my family have had big lottery type wins and I won £250 in M&S vouchers in a crossword comp a few years back.
Aaahhh, why can't I be related to you Nom.

Never won anything noteworthy in my life.

And I'm old ;-((
I don't do anything in the way of competitions. But I did win a turkey in February for coming last at a bowling night. Mainly because I couldn't hit a barn door with a tractor.
I've won a couple of crossword comps. The prized Telegraph pen and notebook twice, none of which I've ever used but the thrill was in seeing name in print in the paper. :)
I enter loads of on line holiday competitions.

My lack of winning anything yet means that statistics prove I am just about to land the big one.

I must be doing something right because my dedicated competition entry e mail address gets lots of mail
I won the raffle at our street's Silver Jubilee party in 1977. Only because I thought the highest number would be the winner. So I asked for the last number in the book. It happened to win. We had a lovely hamper of Angel Delight, Spam, After Eights and other things.
I used to win lots of prizes in golf competitions, but sadly, those days are gone. I'm lucky just to be playing these days. Couldn't hit a cows' backside with a banjo now.
I used to win quite often on my local radio station phone-in competitions, At one time I was winning that often that I was banned from entering for a month.
My mother was a complete Take A Break freak and won quite a few 'small' prizes. However, a friend of the family did win a car with the same publication.
There is a fella on here who seems to win competions all the time and alwayys swannining off to climes much warmer. I won't mention his user name MR DustyPuss... but he does seem to be the luckiest man ever,
I won £200 with That's Life a few years ago and a book in a birding magazine two years ago. Enter Take a Break comp almost every week and not one anything in 5 years.
Its obvious but the easier the comp the less chance you have got.
look for comps in more obscure, specialized mags with a low readership
I have won the "best domestic garden" comp 3 years in succession...but I didn't enter it ! lol..
I did one of those promotions once where you get a number off the inside of a pack. (Nestlé's water)

I entered the number onto their website and it said I was a winner, getting £500.

My cynical nature assumed at first it was some sort of scam, so I got my daughter to read it and confirm it was true.
I have relations in Africa that I didn't know about. all they need is my bank details then I'm a winner!
