Probably not a good place to put it !
Glass reflection will frighten them away.
Best to think of an alternative
They are probably scared of the face at the window.
How long has in been in place excel? It takes them ages to use new feeders

hello redman, how's married life treating you?

grasscarp - very possibly

i suppose, mazie, i should allow more time - it went up ten days ago
Lol grasscarp... I was going to post about the cling-on looking at them.
Excel it will happen......probably when you're not looking, lol! x
Give them time, you'll soon get fed up of bird poo by the window.
Takes much longer than 10 days excel.... Good luck I hope you get some visitors soon :o)

thank you cupid and mazie, you too society
give them time excel. you will be lucky in the end i'm sure.

Did you remember to put some food in it?

;-)
Excel .... none at our new feeder containing Niger seed either - I thought goldfinches loved it? They much prefer the old feeders containing sunflower hearts and the new one has been up a month!
It will take at least 2 weeks for it to naturalist and maybe another 2 weeks for the birds to find it. That's assuming its not a busy room and activity inside is putting them off. Once they find it they will not leave it alone and you'll be filling it up every other day!
Niger seed is a waste of money. If there are goldfinches in the area, they'll eat Sunflower hearts no problem.
It's not one of these feeders, is it, Excel?

I want one!
You need to be patient. The birds will come in their own time.
Bought one of these on Sunday but haven't had time to put it up yet. Will report on results.
LOL@Tony!
