Why Do I Do Things Like This?

We have just come back from town and I was persuaded to buy a Dickinson and Morris pork pie. When we got home Mr T made some tea and cut a couple of slices of pie for us both. He had thrown the wrapper away and wrapped the remaining pie in foil.
I sat down to eat mine and before I ate it, asked how many calories the piece of pie had. He didn't know , or care. I searched for the wrapper, read the blurb, calculated the number of calories, took the pastry off and ate the meat. The dogs had the pastry.
I swear I heard Mr T mutter, 'For goodness sake', under his breath.
