Oh I see RI Geezer. It just did sound rather harsh!! I understand now though. Thanks.
Tell you what your missing the Hypcrasy of the situation.

Gay people are no more lightly to be a danger to children than straight people and they will be as loving, kind and affectionate as another st of parents I have no doubt.

What really gets me is this there are appently lots of Afro-Caribbean children in the system that caucasian couples are prevented from adopting because they are caucasian.

This is because of culture and upbringing.

These children came from heterosexua parents.

Now I think that anyone who will love the kids and bring them in a loving environment irrespective of race, colour or creed.

But if it applys in one strata shouldn't apply in every strata?l
flobbergob, you are absolutely right, my sexual preferences are none of your business and are not relevant to this discussion, so why do you feel the need to warn me about the possible results of my supposed sexual practices. I neither need nor want your advice thankyou. I am in my mid seventies and am perfectly healthy in every way.
I see the kids in your link have had lots of contact and care with Aunties and grandmothers, Ethel. The kids are enjoying a good family life and loved. Yes, compare them to Karen Matthews children.

What family does not have problems are are 100% a 'normal family unit'?
Would you have preferred that MY son were put up for adoption by a 'loving and caring heterosexual couple' R1Geezer ?
It would be far more interesting to find out why the Local Authority decided on this particular placement.

All the gay couple did was put themselves forwards and undergo a rigourous selection procedure.............
And hopefully any gay couple in a stable relationship will also have loving family members, including their parents and siblings.
DaisyMae, You and I are both in the 'pensioner' age group.
It amuses me to think that it's us that are more open minded and accepting than some others. :o)

Ethel is no spring chicken either! (Sorry, Ethel - I am sure though you would not take offense).

Dave the Dog. A good post. You are right!
It is surprising isn't it? Perhaps it has something to do with having seen just about everything (as the saying goes) and not being shocked by very much at all. I also know a number of gay people of both sexes and find them so demonstrably normal that I can't see why they are the subject of so much angst.
flobbergob Erm, if we are only allowed to put sexual organs in their 'correct receptacle' can I assume that oral sex is also out?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

White couples are not allowed to adopt black children for "cultural" (sounds more like overtly racist to me) reasons, yet Social Services are actively encouraged to place very young girls with homosexual male couples, and accompanied by a high degree of threats and incivility so it would seem.

This country is astounding in its progressive stupidity, bluntly, it is close to being f----d.

p.s. Daisy et al, nothing personal intended - how could it be, it is a totally anonymous board.
How sad when it seems that the character of a person entirely depends on how they privately spend 90 minutes or so of their week.................
Getting back to the topic for a moment - if the grandparents were that keen to bring the children up it seems odd they were being fostered.

OEV :) all I will say is that the rectum is outstandingly incorrect.
I agree DaisyMae.

I await with interest flobbergob's reply to oneeyedvic!! ;o)

Flobbergob. Are you going to move out then ;o)
Good point eltelioni.

The British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) is concerned that too many ethnic minority children are left in care homes or with temporary foster families while social workers try to find families to match their precise ethnic and religious background. It believes that the problem could be worsening as the ethnicity of children becomes more complex.

...

Research from Julia Feast, a leading expert in adoption and reunions, found that 71 per cent of children in transracial adoptions said that they always felt different from the rest of their family compared with 48 per cent in same-race placements. They attempted to find their natural parents at a far younger age.
It is a specious argument suggested by OEV - the two don't even remotely compare (you'd be happy to kiss somebody on the mouth I assume - would you be quite so happy to kiss them on the anus?).
90 minutes hatless jack!

You should be so lucky! ;o)

I agree though!!
