Do yoghurt knitting beardy weirdies love muslims? If I said I'd like to treat women as they do or perhaps if I wanted to execute ginger beers, I'd be labelled an extremist and have them spitting out their organic peace musli So on paper they should be front line, I don't get it!

You really should try and differentiate between 'loving them' and 'respecting their rights' (that are compatible with our laws). No one on here has ever (to my knowledge) said that Muslims should be allowed to execute homosexuals.

Your question is the equivalent of saying - why don't the right wing nazi brigade like Muslims - after all, they like killing people for criminal acts, torturing criminals and suppressing free speech.

You so remind me of Bush - you are either with us or against us.

Laughable.

well no one would defend the BNP, why do lefties defend muslims to the hilt? that's what I'm asking!
R1Geezer

Are you really trying to equate the BNP to Muslims?

Seriously???
-- answer removed --
I defend the right of the BNP to exist. I don't agree with a lot of their policies (especially being of Asian origin), but would never want to see it banned.

I don't agree with a lot of Islamic values - but again would not want to see it banned.
Question Author
Not really SP, what I'm saying is that the BNP have extreme views and can leave your lefties apoplectic. Where as your standard muslim has slightly different but equally extreme/abhorrent views and seem to avoid the the same from your standard lentil cruncher. Can someone explain why it's ok for a muslim to want death to gays but not for the BNP to have some of their views on racism. Every time the Islam question comes up on here there are hoards of Islam apologists hand wringing themselves into a lather. Mention the BNP and the condemnation is pretty well uniform.
Because they are blinkered by a warped brotherly love idealism that appears to knows no bounds.

Would prefer to live by brotherly love than hate filled bile.

So Raggy, how do you feel about living in a Christian country that preaches exactly the same values that you mock?

Not very British of you is it?

This is very much a perception thing.

Do you think ALL British people should be treated like they were members of BNP?

What the 'lefties' say is that there are some extremist Muslims - that is agreed - but not all Muslims are extremists, just as non every British person is a BNP supporter.
Have you ever known any muslims personally Geezer?

I rather suspect not - certainly those I know are nothing like the way you portray them

You think ALL muslims want to blow us to bits Raggy?

I don't know how I've managed to stay in one piece beeing married to an Irish Catholic for 20 years!

Maybe she's just been biding her time!
Vic - I find it very difficult to feel any brotherly love for people who want to blow people to bits. You may but I can't sorry.

So you don't believe in Jesus's teachings?

So how do you feel about living in a Christian country?

Why don't you leave this country for one that is not Christian?

Isn't that what you say to Muslims?

Well I think you'll find plenty of people who want to blow other people to bits who happen not to be Muslims!

Perhaps you just need to differentiate between muslims and Islamists and then we'd all agree

Wouldn't that be amazing!
Question Author
Vic, some are more extreme than others, yes. However they collectively do very little to distance themselves from the "nutters", from that we can deduce that they may not themselves be extremist but they certainly have sympathy. Would they be defending the infildel in the case of Sharia imposition? I think not!

I do know some muslims jake and generally they are not the nutters, but like sheep they would probably follow them if they thoght is was happenning.

and yes Jake I do think most Muslims are totally intollerent of anyone who disagrees with their disgusting faith and if they thought they'd get away with it they''d not hesitate to slay the infidel. Just remind me how many churches there are in Arabia, Iran etc

Have you got some Muslim friends?
Yep and none of them have ever been in the least intolerant of other people's religions.

I spent 2 weeks living with one one a business trip to the states once

I really think you are tarring an awfull lot of people with the same brush based on what you are geting from the media.

It's like thinking all jews go around in black hats and beards
Churches in Iran
"A number of Christian denominations are represented in Iran. Many members of the larger, older churches belong to ethnic groups with their own distinctive culture and language. The members of the newer, smaller churches are drawn both from the traditionally Christian ethnic minorities and to an increasingly larger degree converts from non-Christian background.
The main Christian churches are:
Armenian Apostolic Church of Iran (about 110,000-300,000 adherents),[citation needed]
Assyrian Church of the East of Iran (about 11,000 adherents),
Chaldean Catholic Church of Iran (about 7,000 adherents),
various Protestant denominations, most important of which are:
Presbyterian, including the Assyrian Evangelical Church
Jama'at-e Rabbani (the Iranian Assemblies of God churches)
and the Anglican Church of Iran."
