Am i missing something but wouldn't it be easier to load up a trolley with 2 or 3 suitcases full of semtex and nails and just walk into a crowded departure lounge and detonate it rather than try and drive a Jeep in there?

If you were to try to purchase a suitcase load of Semtex the probability is you would get caught. Even trying to buy large quantities of peroxide hairdressing products will now warrant suspicion. Bottled gas and petrol are easily purchased without attracting suspicion though their effects can be deadly.

Hi Gromit,
my point is that it looks easy to gain access to departure/arrival halls where hundreds of innocent people are milling around and do whatever mischief you want before anything could be done about it!so why make it difficult.
If you have no respect for you own life let alone others, then there are many crowded places where your murderous intent could be realised. The lo-tech method during these current attacks is designed to minimise detection. I still can't help but think that this current bunch of loon terrorists seem particular dim almost as if they were trained at the Abbott and Costello al-qaeda camp.
Yes Dummy -I too can think of methods that Terrorists could use-BUT I don't tell them.
How to get on the MI5 computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although these latest attacks may seem to be somewhat "bungled" and amateurish, surely one of the main objectives of the terrorists is to cause the maximum amount of disruption to the structure of society; in that they have certainly succeeded.
