//Labour's Rachel Reeves says the drop is a "relief for families" but adds that "prices are still going up in the shops"//

Well Duh, inflation isnt 0% !

I don't understand the 'question'

I did.

Neither do I Hopkirk. It may be the double-negative.

TTT - are you saying that this good news is being ignored byt the  <flips notes> "lefty types"?

If so - to what end is this question posed?

You know very well SP.

It's not a question, it's an invitation to a friendly argument. Wednesday is a rather quiet day.

Ah...natter away then!

TTT. You shouldn't be surprised.  They probably haven't seen this report as they are too busy scouring the internet to look for bad news to gloat about.

so is the question about the great work that's been happening to bring down inflatio, or to disparage people that don't think the same as the OP?

Terrible Tory Trolling - again.

How Sunak can be claiming that he's done wonders to bring inflation down just proves how stupid he is. Has he forgotten that it was under a Tory government that inflation gallopped up to an insane level?

True diddlydoo; but it has raced away across the world, whatever colour of government

No to above - look at the figures for the USA and Italy for example.

13:59, yes inflation was caused by ours and most of the world's stupid handling of the pandemic. Printing £400bn to pay people to sit on their Aprils was always going to come home to roost. Now the innevitable inflation has been brought under control and yes the whole thing is the fault of the tories mainly because they are the government an have been since 2010.

o god TTT it is so sad you were not PM in 2020 instead of that pig Boris

"Lefty types": Anyone to the left of Ghengis Khan or an AB poster who's had the temerity to disagree with or challenge Warden Hodges.

In passing I ask if the 'sitting on their Aprils' thing is saved to favourites for crowbarring and instant access?

Well this is whats called, throwing an angrenade into the AB news. Thats what TTT calls it, and accuses gully of doing. So funny really. Inflation down? Tell that to those who have lost or losing their homes at present.

Apart from the world wide drop in fuel prices what has been done to reduce inflation here in the UK?

Christmas veg at 15p/kilo. Not doing much for emissions though.

The cause of all this was the government listening to the lockdown lovers. Inflation has now started coming down so perhaps soon interest rates will fall and that has to be good news surely? I have no mortgage so if I was being selfish I'd want rates to remain high, all good for me but I like to look at the bigger picture rather than the narrow self interest of the left.
