Brits can now enjoy swimming in raw sewage thanks to Brexit – any other EU country providing such an option to their citizens would be fined by the European Commission.

Then more fool them for allowing an unelected foreign organisation to have jurisdiction over their affairs.

If only we belonged to some organisation that could stop the authorities/government of our country from poisoning our citizens.

If you feel the need of protection from your elected government there are 27 nations from which you can choose to live. You'll be well protected in them because the EU is well known as a protectionist organisation. Meanwhile, best keep out of the sea around the UK's coasts. I wouldn't dream of swimming in the sea in this country whether we belonged to the EU or not. It's simply not nice.
you sad and bitter hymie?..oh dear, 'ow sad. never mind
If people want to avoid raw sewage when swimming, I suggest that they should simply head up to Norh Yorkshire. I understand that there's a big house up there which has got an exceptionally well-heated pool.
Or pop over to Ireland, Chris.

Give it a chance to load the map data and then select Ireland from list on left. Quite an impressive report
The waters around Ireland are a bit chilly for me, Gness. I'd rather head to Malta (which is a country I love anyway), where the 'quality status' figures are 96.6% excellent, 2.3% good and 1.1% sufficient.
They are a tad chilly, Chris but we're a hardy lot.
I have friends who love Malta but I won't go there. What they do to birds displeases me. x
I was ok swimming off Malta until we went over to Gozo on the ferry and were surrounded by a huge shoal of jellyfish!
3rd world countries pollute their waterways, just saying.
It's because of what comes out of the remoaners mouths
I love sea swimming, it's just the jobby.
Yes, thanks Brexiters.
Anyway, come down to Weston Super Mare. The sea may be brown but it’s the mud, not poop.
wot no propaganda video?
Well I'm off to the Maldives in a couple of weeks, so there.
So, swimming in sewage is ok as long as an external unelected elite group has fined your nation and extracted YOUR money from YOUR national economy ?

I think some may have lost touch with reality. If one has a problem one needs to tackle it, not leave it and think it's ok because you donated money to the undeserving.
Hymie, why is it thanks to Brexit that we are having this problem. We had it when we were in the EU and we in the south west still have it so no difference. South West water has been fined for this on a number of occasions so same result as in the EU. You say any other EU country would be fined for doing it. Well in case you hadn't noticed we are no longer in the EU so which country are you talking about. By the way some areas of Spain have had this problem for many years so have they been fined or not. This is not just a UK problem or as you would say a Brexit one.
Doesnt seem to stop it in Spain. One bad storm and s*** is over the streets let alone the sea.

Stop your tripe Hymie, you are obsessed.
