Was it not stupid (yet again) of Harry to claim, as he has apparently in his book, that he has killed several members of the Taliban ?

Does he not now make himself a target for jihadist extremists?

Well, every credit to him for doing his job, ie dispatching members of the Taliban. However, as someone who has consistently complained about security concerns he is, at best, very poorly advised to go around highlighting something which could very easily come back to put his own family in danger. I can hardly believe how naive he is showing himself to be. He...

He served two tours in Afghanistan. I think it was fair to believe he had multiple kills anyway. It wasn't a wise move to be so vocal about it, but if a jihadist have wanted to off him, they probably would've tried by now.
Harry: "I killed loads of people in Afghanistan but my brother bwoke my necklace."

:-)
And there was everyone thinking he'd gone out there to shake their hands and go "what do you do?"
Not taking sides on this but I cannot really see that it matters.
He is more likely to be clobbered by a tabloid editor :-)
Paywall got me. Shame as I would've like to have seen her takes on them.
I got through most of it before the Independent wanted my wallet.

I can see her point, but you don't necessarily have to meet someone for them to be an inspiration to you, especially given the connection Mandela had with Harry's mother.

Bobbisox; I hadn't read Colonel Richard Kemp's article when I posted this OP, but I think he is bang-on.

I've met several ex-servicemen in my life, both friends & family members & I've never heard any of them say they have killed someone - though in some cases I'm sure they've had to.

For monetary gain. More money in the Markles pockets.

I can hardly believe how naive he is showing himself to be. He must surely know that his own family and the Royals are already targets for terrorist organisations. I would love to know what he is hoping to achieve by all this public posturing, as it seems that complete destruction of any relationship he had with his family is now complete.
I think King Charles will probably deem this to be the worst thing to come out of this book.
There was another thread yesterday about this yesterday which gives thoughts on this too. Just for info. For those that missed it

He was already a target for extremists, and nutters in general. That's why he needs security in the first place.
Perhaps his ghost writer should have just not put that in the book.
We all know Harry is daft, but the ghost writer has a brain.
foo depends if it was in battle innit ( war crime)

if he were always out of the front line as they NOW say then there is a case - shooting prisoners. But even for Harry, I doubt if he were so stupid to say it.

And remember folks! the version we are reading is a back-translation
US tv are slow - they should get the bilingual Mehicanos into action - they speak spanish, just to keep some ABers up to speed
