It is only temporary. The fourth plinths has had a number of different projects on it. Each one seems to elicit cries of angst from our resident miserablists.

Do the same as was done when Thatchers statue was erected throw eggs and paint at it. In Thatcher's case it was rightly deserved though.
Why we need to erect statues of anyone anymore. Are they really necessary in this day and age? Probably costly too.
