There are various lefty love ins below calling for a general election. Let me explain why you have zero chance. The current PM will not call one and even in the unlikely event she is deposed and we spend another 6 weeks electing a new one. The replacement one won't call one either. I hope that is clear.

Interesting thread, but the comment about the alternative to Tory gov. being much worse, is entirely correct. I have been voting since the days of the great “Wislon” . I once believed that a fairer distribution of wealth was a good thing, if not essential to our society. However, Harold’s successors convinced me otherwise, remember Healy going cap in hand to the imf? Not to mention to permanent damage done by Blair (nhs not transformed but wrecked, Iraq relaxing of gabling controls having dreadful consequences etc ). Brown’s fiscal sleight of hand, robbing the pension funds etc etc. that government left power with “no money left”
Can’t understand why anyone would think the latest labour lot would not be the same, should a catastrophe occur and they were voted in. Anyone voting labour, obviously has no memory
Gambling , not gabling, which btw I am not doing

blackstoun, 14:11, bang on, the lefties either forget that or never knew it having been brainwashed by lefty teachers. BA to you.
"Can’t understand why anyone would think the latest labour lot would not be the same, should a catastrophe occur and they were voted in. Anyone voting labour, obviously has no memory " - bang on once more.
Bit OTT there TTT....you could say the same about this goverment over last 18 months

bob, however bad you think it is it would be a lot worse under real Labour and they have not been in since 70s so most won't remember.
I can’t help feeling that the “best answer” is employing selective memory rather.
All governments do good thing ld and bad things and that list of Labour “bad things” seems rather random.
By the way “go to best answer” doesn’t work. Not for me anyway
The current set-up reminds me a bit of the Local Shop in the League of Gentlemen. But instead of Tubbs and Edward it’s Liz and Kwasi.
So I pop in the shop and announce to the pair of them that I’m going to murder my in-laws and burn their shop. And they stare at me swivel-eyed, size me up and finally hiss: “Will that be good for growth?”

Tends to happen when it’s given to one of the ‘gang’.
It’s usually Youngmafbog who gets it, tack has been changed a little of late.
I was commenting on the actual comment: up to the OP who he or she gives it to
I know you were and yes, indeed it is.
Wasn’t looking for best answer, didn’t know what it meant until now.
Yes my list may seem rather random, because I was selective , going back to the sixties, just picking a few from many more, due to the nature of posting on fora such as this. The real list would have been of old testament proportions. My point about people not remembering just how bad the subsequent effects of Wilson, Callaghan, Tony Barbour, Healy, Blair, Brown, Mandelsohn etc turned out to be, remains valid. I chose not to mention the loathsome worm tongue spin doctor employed by Blair/Brown , to obscure the truth from the hapless electorate, because of the appalling Mr. D. Cummings. Unlike Boris/Dominic, one thing the labour govt. of Blair Brown was good at was promoting the idea of “transforming” the things into something better that time showed to be actually the opposite. Just who are the “working people that labour are still banging on about? Not the labour funded well paid union barons certainly. Vote as you wish, that’s your choice, just don’t tell me I am OTT when it all goes to hell in a hand cart!

Blackstoun: "Wasn’t looking for best answer, didn’t know what it meant until now. " - I know but you earned it.

00:58 another excellent post, you should contribute more in news it would balance out the current overpopulation of anti British marxists that I have to fight each day.

Blackstoun

You speak Tora’s language. No one refers to ‘Union Barons’ anymore. That all went in the 1980s. It is almost as if you are brothers in arms.
Your timing is good. TTT has been accused of having multiple AB identities, and then you turn up and say everything he like to hear.
Top Tip: Slip some cockney rhythming slang in next time, he really likes that.

Gromit, it is possible that other people have similar views, it does not mean that they are the same person. I have been accused of being at least 6 different people on here but if you look more closely at style and terminology you'll see that they are not me. It would take a lot of effort not to give the game away if I really did have multiple ID. No need to publish your list. I have had other IDs yes but the dates are contiguous not parallel. I only start a new one when an old one is canned. This one lasted longer than I thought it would.

I’ve no doubt they’ll shortly become a regulator contributor in News and will garner several BA’s.
Maybe Gramps82 will too? Lol

As for Marxists, tell us why did you vote for anti-monarchist Truss, the woman who slates British workers?
