I don't believe the story either, or at least, if it's true, then clearly some Tory MPs have no shame and no patience. I don't have any interest in pretending to be a fan of Liz Truss, nor her Chancellor's recent "mini" (understatement) budget. Still, a weekend hardly seems long enough to evaluate it.
But, in response to Untitled's question:

Assuming Truss lost a vote of no confidence, she'd be barred from standing in the subsequent leadership contest -- so the result would be necessarily different. On the other hand, I'm fairly sure there's no bar to former leaders from standing a second time in the next-but-one leadership contest, so for example Johnson may decide to try again.
But that's all hypothetical. I personally can't imagine anything more guaranteed to destroy the Tories' credibility than a second self-indulgent leadership contest in a calendar year.

Exactly, TCL, that poll is about Conservative party members, not MPs and as such does not support Fatti’s assertion that those MPs weren’t ‘overly keen on seeing ethnic minorities getting the actual top job’.
