One solution that seems to have worked downunder is to stop treating illegal immigrants like royalty.

we shouldn't feed, house them, then they may get the message and begger off home.

//One thought I had was that it would be a simple matter to put the outboard engine propeller out of action//

There’s your problem.
You had a go at thinking.
Leave that to others.

So you want UK Special Forces to covertly wait on French beaches and sabotage the motors of the boats as they set off?
You’ve been watching too many James Bond films.
But James Bond is awesome, he rights every wrong
Perhaps we can hire the services of a Captain Cook type character ( 1ozzy - are you free for the next few months ?) to lead an expedition to find out if we have missed a land between us and France , hitherto undiscovered .

Then we can ship these undesirables there .

Problem solved
Jersey maybe? Didn't the Nazis have prison camps there.

Marginally better than your recent plan to machine gun them.
I'll keep that as a back up.

Fatti //So you want UK Special Forces to covertly wait on French beaches and sabotage the motors of the boats as they set off?//

No they can patrol the short French coast in a ship & watch for activity by satellite or drones & then intercept pdq.

After so many attempts have to be aborted they will stop coming, because no one will want give their money to the Albanian smugglers & find they get nowhere.

Over to you professor!
So you want UK Special Forces to patrol covertly in French waters under cover of darkness?
Because that won’t look very sinister, will it? Lol.

Far easier to do as I said, round them up daily and return them in a landing craft to a random French beach each time.
No need for SF nor machine guns.
It’s not diplomatic but it’s safe and it’d encourage the French to be far more diligent than they presently are and let them decide how to sort their open border problem on their side.

French waters stretch out only 3 miles (4.8 kms) outside of that the Channel is either international or British waters.
So you want to intercept them in international waters, then sabotage their boats?
Hmmm, that won’t prove much of a logistical nightmare nor cause any emergency service difficulties, will it?

Easier to let them make dry land whilst being surveilled, scuttle/seize their craft then return them almost immediately.
5-6 days of that in the height of crossing season ought to motivate the French a little more.
Question Author
I don't know what the SAS would do, but they would do something.
Your idea,
""let them make dry land whilst being surveilled, scuttle/seize their craft then return them almost immediately.""

Makes no sense at all, for a start, all they have to say do is say 3 words in English; "I CLAIM ASYLUM" & international law states they have to be given shelter until processed.

Secondly, even if that was ignored, you suggest that a British vessel sails to the French/EU coast & drops them on the beaches!

Try to imagine (if you have any imagination) the opposite; If a French ship did the same thing at Dover
And assuming that migrants would meekly board a landing craft at Dover & meekly exit it on a French beach! (I think my machine guns might come in handy.)

So er…….maybe give it a try before we break out the GPMG’s, LSW’s and belts of 1 in 5 tracer ammunition, no?
Keep up the deranged posts, one of your mates will be along shortly to concur no doubt.
MAABOF.
What happens to the migrants picked up in international water?
//What happens to the migrants picked up in international water?//

If you mean currently - the Frogs don't want 'em so we send the Royal Navy / RNLI / Border Farce to bring them ashore here. Provide them with interpreters (if needed) and contact details of some human rights lawyers and ask them which 4* hotel they would like to be housed in before we can offer them permanent accommodation in social housing (with benefits) ahead of people already on the waiting lists.
I was not clear. The suggestion is that the SAS (not the SBS, for some reason) intercept the migrants in international water to prevent them coming to the UK.

What would happen next?

I wasn't in the SAS (never had the Latin) so I don't know what they would do, & we'd probably never find out, but I'm suggesting the outboard motor be disabled just into international waters, then there are only two choices for them, row south three miles (with assistance) or north 17, & think they would take the former.

What if they have no oars?
