I assume the number of votes received will be secret until 5th September. So no one can use 2 votes to be tactical. In is an alternate method to stop a postal strike from interfering with the election.

Truss will romp home by a massive margin. Not because her economic policies are any better, but because she is white and her rival is black, and the Tory faithful are not ready to a PM of Sunak’s complexion.

If you use both Gromit the last one wins.
Why would anyone vote twice?
Why would anyone change candidate after their first vote ?
Question Author
read the article they can change their mind. Most won't but they can.
If they voted online, and then posted a spoilt ballot paper as a protest, would their online vote still stand ?
Scenario:

Monday: Postal vote for A sent
Tuesday: Electronic vote for B sent
Wednesday: the Postal vote for A arrives

As the postal vote has been received after the electronic one, is it the date the postal vote was signed that counts or the date received?
decisions decisions, must be difficult picking your winner in a two horse race

Gromit; "If they voted online, and then posted a spoilt ballot paper as a protest, would their online vote still stand ? " as I understand it the last ballot overrides the first as if it were the only one so the online vote would be superseded by the spoilt ballot/ That in effect creates an abstention.
Will the way the vote be a matter of public record?
Question Author
Well it's an internal party matter but still subject to FOI requests. It will be published anyway.
