The people have spoken, Boris and his party have lost two important by elections. Boris's own MPs were too frightened to get rid of him so the public have taken over and are going to do it for them.
Also the resignation of Oliver Dowden sent the Tories a message.
No Tory seat is safe anymore. These By election results will seep like poison through the Tory parties blood stream The exuses will start to be heard . But statistics are hard to ignore. This could be the beginning of the end of power for the Tories for decades. I hope.

In British politics there are now two blocs, the Tories and the anti-Tories. Take Tiverton. In the last two elections, Labour came second there. But in this by-election, they lost their deposit as their vote share dropped by 16 per cent. Fatti, I'm under no illusions, I think Boris probably will end up going. The Tories are not sentimental, if they think they need a new leader to win then they'll not hesitate to dump him. The problem is, for me at least who can replace him? I don't have any idea myself, I don't trust Ellwood or Tugendhat and the incumbent front bench would be seen as similarly tainted to Boris. The only one I can think of as an outside chance would be Penny Mordaunt

For what reasons? Ellwood and Tugendhat are reliable, trustworthy ex Servicemen so at least have a sense of duty and morals. Ellwood distinguished himself when the policeman was stabbed at Parliament so I’d trust him to have my back and stand and fight, not skink off and leave it to the minions to carry the can like Johnson does.They certainly would uphold public office far better than Johnson, but then so would an alley cat.
Tell me what qualifications Johnson had prior to high office?

The bumbling fool who became popular because he’d wave a Union flag on a death slide just doesn’t make it as a political figure with gravitas, but to you he obviously does.
