Is This The End
The people have spoken, Boris and his party have lost two important by elections. Boris's own MPs were too frightened to get rid of him so the public have taken over and are going to do it for them.
Also the resignation of Oliver Dowden sent the Tories a message.
No Tory seat is safe anymore. These By election results will seep like poison through the Tory parties blood stream The exuses will start to be heard . But statistics are hard to ignore. This could be the beginning of the end of power for the Tories for decades. I hope.

In British politics there are now two blocs, the Tories and the anti-Tories. Take Tiverton. In the last two elections, Labour came second there. But in this by-election, they lost their deposit as their vote share dropped by 16 per cent. This isn’t because voters in rural Devon are particularly unpersuaded by Keir Starmer but because anti-Tory voters...

//it's easy to say "anyone" but just WHO is that anyone?//
Who do the Tories on here suggest? You’re asking me for the alternatives and I’ve given them, a bit like Labour giving government the idea of a windfall tax on the energy companies that the Tories subsequently ran with.
What say you? Or do you want Johnson to remain?

//no gully, not a disappointment, expected. We knew we'd lose mid term, same as your hero St Tony did when he was in.//
Tbf, even in your darkest nightmares you never expected it you be worse than Stafford, plus 2 weeks ago you thought they were Labour held seats!
Still waiting for those who asked for their own suggestions as to who should replace Johnson?
Or like the former Tory party chairman are they resigned to their fate and have no credible alternative of their own?
C’mon, I’ve already given you the ideas, let’s hear yours?

And as I pointed out the other day, Blair hadn’t recently narrowly avoided being booted out by his own to the tune of 41% against.
You’ve got to stop all the histrionics and deal with what is happening now, not 12-15 years ago.

Tory MPs fret over seats - as one says Boris Johnson 'insulting the electorate'
A number of Conservative MPs are unsurprisingly concerned about their chances of retaining their seats given the scale of the party's by-election defeats.
Tory grandee Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown said there was "no doubt" it would be "difficult to hold" his seat if there were a by-election in his constituency now.
"I think, factually, if I were to run under a bus today it would be difficult to hold my seat," the MP for the Cotswolds and treasurer of the 1922 committee said.
"I feel very sorry for all our volunteers, and indeed my colleagues, and indeed myself, who work very hard in these by-elections, but were simply defeated by the situation that we find ourselves in at the moment."
Conservative MP Jesse Norman, who wrote to Mr Johnson earlier in June to say he was withdrawing his support due to the partygate scandal and his government's lack of "a sense of mission", reiterated fears over their impact on the electorate.
He tweeted a quote from that letter on Friday morning, writing: "For you to prolong this charade not only insults the electorate, and the people who support, volunteer, represent and campaign for our party; it makes a decisive change of government at the next election much more likely.
"That is potentially catastrophic for this country."
That Tory is a man who can see what an omnishambles Johnson is.

//gulliver: "TTT @ 10.32 "So Who do you think should replace Boris, fatti". If you had asked me that question TTT.
I would suggest either Keir Starmer or Ed Davey. " - yes but Fatticus knows that's impossible.//
Yet again, why are you using my name whilst responding to Gulliver and his question?
You’ve asked me who I feel should replace Johnson, I’ve replied and STILL you have not responded nor submitted candidates of your own?
You’re typical of this Tory government, blame everyone else but provide no solutions.
Why are you asking others for their advice or suggestions?
Is nobody ‘in the party’ as you claim to be able to to put forward their own ideas?
They bloody ought to, 148 must have had someone else in mind the other week! Lol.

//fatti: "You’ve got to stop all the histrionics and deal with what is happening now, not 12-15 years ago. " - history is important, that's how we know by elections are irrelevant.//
Rofl, these two are extremely relevant in light of all the resignations and recent vote of over 41% of Tories against Johnson.
So relevant that his party chairman has resigned and his own MP’s are telling him to consider his position!!
You really need to stop now, you’re looking even more foolish than usual in your defence of Johnson.
Even his own party hate him, doesn’t that tell you something?
