Yup. I also know that the difference is fairly marginal and that India's GDP was actually greater than the UK's prior to Covid.

Further, I know that a far more reliable of economic success or failure is the level of a country's debt when expressed as a percentage of GDP. The UK has a higher percentage than India does:

India made up 1/3 of the world’s economy from 1AD to 1,000AD, and 25% as late as the 1500s (source Wikipedia).
