Cost of a first class stamp is to increase by over 10% to 95 pence (second class up 2p to 68p). Jeez, is there anything that is not going up?

I wouldn't mind paying 95pence if next-day delivery was more-or-less guaranteed....but I've just received a first-class letter from 20 miles away posted Monday afternoon.
Currently, we are lucky if we get two deliveries a week...it has been down to one.
Oh...and I've resorted to collecting my mail from the delivery office as a way of actually getting it.
I do use snail mail for competitions and the odd card. Gift I sent at Christmas by first class took 10 days to travel 12 miles. Think the postie walked.
only use 2nd class - a few birthday & xmas card & the SE skeleton!
