This is the most dreadful story. The boys arrested are aged between 13 and 15. One child dead and other young lives ruined or, at the very least, blighted.

I don’t have more words….just profound sadness.

A child has been murdered and the best AB can offer is more petty bickering and grandstanding? Shame. RIP Ava. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

sqad, A 12 year old girl should be able to go out with her girl friends at 8pm to watch the Christmas lights switched on. She has to be allowed out on her own presumably to go to school on public transport etc. this tragedy could have happened anywhere.
Sqad - // A-H.

PP and you are "characters" on AB and this has to be applauded, as AB is sorely short of such such posters. //

If posting sarcastic incomprehsnible garbage makes me a 'character' like PP, I would like to disassociate myself from the description, starting now.

Thanks.
Khandro it could I agree.
PP - // These are very sad facts of life, that no amount of puckering your face and looking pious is going to change //

And no amount of posting utter nonsense that no-one can read is going to change either - but refraining from it does show respect for the gravity of the subject.

Of course she should, but society decrees that women and children are not safe in city centres at night, and we have to work around that dreadful situation.
A-H characters come in many forms.
I sometimes have as much difficulty in following your posts as much as PP's.

But you are both needed on AB
//sqad, A 12 year old girl should be able to go out with her girl friends at 8pm to watch the Christmas lights switched on.//

No 12-year-old should be in a busy town centre where there are pubs with people boozing and undesirables hanging on street corners without an appropriate adult.

A 12-year-old isn't even a teenager - it's a minor.
I "should" be able to leave my house without locking the doors but common sense says I can't.
No words just heartfelt sympathy that so many young lives have gone , the young girl , and the boys who’s stupidity have led to such a tragedy , and No, I would NOT allow a 12 yr old to go into town with friends at 8pm
I apologise for the interrupting this thread.
Where PP is concerned if his post annoy you, don’t read them .
LadyCG //No 12-year-old should be in a busy town centre where there are pubs with people boozing and undesirables hanging on street corners without an appropriate adult.//

Even adults get stabbed too, & it's Liverpool at 8:00 pm with crowds of adults around watching the Christmas lights go on, not Riverdale, Chicago at midnight.
The young lass was with a group of her friends. Perhaps her parents believed there was safety in numbers?

Peter - // yes - no
I now they carry knives
BUT - what did the 12 y do - say ohh that is nothing, reach into her hand bag and draw out a kalashnikov?
and say - that is what I call a real weapon !
thx to Dirty harry and just about everyone since that one.... //

Why do you have to pollute a tragic story thread with your puerile gobbledygook?

Either post something that means something, or don't bother posting at all.

Those were exactly my thoughts too and I can only echo them
Who uses a Crocodile Dundee knife parody over the murder of a child ?
Posts like this remain whilst ones pointing out trolling on other threads are removed ?

Thank you for your support.

The post remains because, appalling as its flippancy is, it does not contravene Site Rules.
If you think posts break the Site Rules, report them, giving your reasons.

Precisely.
No problem andy hughes
We rarely see eye to eye but I will back your post 100 percent
The utter irony of andyhughes made me choke. As you are very fond of repeating if anyone dares to point out innanity in your posts Andy people are welcome to post what yhey like unless it contravenes Site Rules. And if they think it does they are free to report it. Personally I would prefer to read some of Peters gobbledegook than you and name having a face off where it seems like the only point is to go on and on till you have the last word. Peters posts may ruin a thread for you, but belive me your posts often ruin a thread for me and I just find it nauseating you complain about someone else doing what YOU do far moregularly.
In regards to this post I t it utterly heart breaking for the girl, her family and friends
For name read naomi
And for irony, read stinking hypocrisy...

I too would rather read PPs nonsensical ramblings.
